CopperRock is a new home construction and remodeling company based in Nashville, Tennessee. CopperRock works with you to help you define and achieve the vision you have for your home. We know how stressful and mysterious building a home can be, so our guiding principle is transparency in all aspects of the process. It’s important to us that you know what to expect in scheduling, pricing, and budgeting.

Many builders will take shortcuts to save a buck or meet a deadline. That is short-term thinking. CopperRock builds your home to last. We protect your biggest investment every way we can, whether that’s by subcontracting only with trusted partners or by providing our best recommendations and honest opinions.

Pricing

Unlike most builders, CopperRock charges a builder’s fee instead of a markup on labor and selections. This means you know exactly how your budget is being spent. Our pricing structure allows our customers to benefit from any savings, including those available from vendors with our builder’s discount.

Scheduling

Whether we’re helping you build or remodel, communication is key. From start to finish, we provide weekly timeline and schedule updates for remodel projects & bi-weekly updates for new construction projects. That way you know exactly what to expect and when.

Sourcing

CopperRock can provide all the resources needed to do your project including architecture, engineering, interior design & construction. We’re also happy to partner with the interior designers or architects of your choice provided they meet our standards for trusted partners.

Budgeting

CopperRock will work with you on your budget. We believe there are always ways to achieve your vision even when the realities of budget may make it feel impossible.

About CopperRock founder Matt Peninger

You could say homebuilding is in Matt’s blood. As a teenager, Matt worked for his father’s homebuilding business in Southern Indiana. Matt’s respect for the different roles on a jobsite comes from having worked almost every job in the homebuilding process, from digging footers and framing to laying tile and trimming out homes. His dad taught him the importance of hard work, attention to detail, and a clean, organized job site. He also learned the value of having a good interior designer deliver a cohesive design by watching his mom do just that for the award-winning homes she worked on with his father.

But Matt’s path to becoming a homebuilder himself was more of a circle than a straight line. Along the way, he pursued a career in marketing, served his country in Iraq, worked for Habitat for Humanity, and beat cancer. Before getting his general contractors license, Matt worked in residential project management for five years. With CopperRock, Matt believes he’s finally doing what he was meant to do.

Matt lives in Nashville with his wife Katie and their three fur babies. In addition to being a homebuilder, he’s also an award-winning competitive shooter, a die-hard Notre Dame football fan, a citizen of Smashville, and a proud member of the St. Louis Cardinals Nation.
